Bonita took over sole possession of first place in the Palomares League after Thursday’s 4-0 victory over their visitors from Walnut.

Skyler Lee tossed a one-hit shutout.

Lee issued a pair of walks and fanned eight Mustangs’ batters.

Sixty-two of her 94 pitches were strikes.

Cynthia Phong got the lone hit for WHS.

Phong was stuck with the loss after allowing two runs on four hits over four innings.

She walked two and struck out a pair of Bearcats.

Leah Reynolds went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Skyy Hicks hit a solo HR.

Koa Puppe went 1-for-3 with a walk and one RBI.

Audrey Garza and Melany Vaca singled and scored one run apiece.

Serenity Reyes walked and singled.

Up next: The Bearcats travel to Las Vegas to battle Shadow Ridge next Friday and Saturday.
