Ayala opened Palomares League play with a 7-1 victory over their visitors from Glendora.

Easton Sarmiento went 4 1/3 scoreless innings and he surrendered three hits to earn the win.

Sarmiento issued one walk, and he fanned nine GHS batters.

Isaac Huver provided 1 2/3 perfect innings in relief, including a strikeout.

Nolan Chuang allowed an unearned run in the seventh inning on two hits to close out the win.

Chuang got all three of his outs via strikeout.

Ayala pitching combined to strike out eight separate Tartans at least once, and they got five GHS batters twice.

Diego Garza had three of Glendora’s five hits, including an RBI single in the top of the seventh.

Kai Zeits and Jackson Glaze had one single apiece to account for the rest of the GHS offense.

Brayden Johnson allowed six runs (five earned) on six hits over 4 2/3 innings to get stuck with the loss.

Johnson walked two and struck out four Ayala batters.

Dylan Wood went 3-for-3 with a double, run and two RBIs.

Codey Brown doubled, scored twice and hit a two-run HR.

Jaden Valenzuela went 2-for-3 and scored twice.

Aidan Erlandsen singled and scored.
