College Baseball:
Mt. SAC was one of two (Compton) South Coast Conference programs to pick up first-round three-game sweeps this week.
On Saturday, the Mounties secured their three-game sweep with a 7-2 victory over their visitors from El Camino College.
Luke Steward was charged with the loss after allowing six runs (four earned) on 12 hits over his five innings.
Steward walked three and didn’t register a strikeout.
Bryan Bradshaw went 3-for-5 and scored.
Landon White singled twice, scored and drove in one run.
Ty Thomas drew a pair of walks, doubled and scored.
Diego Ortiz singled and scored.
Tyler Stull walked, had an RBI double and scored.
Cole Nachreiner went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Noah Rodriguez singled and drove in a run on a sac fly.
Jackson Giacone singled, scored and had one RBI.
Miguel Perez had an RBI single and scored.
Matt Viveros was credited with the win after going 2 1/3 scoreless innings and allowing five hits.
Viveros didn’t issue a walk and registered three strikeouts.
Gio Crow doubled and scored.
Slater Nunez walked, singled and had an RBI ground out.
Jack Nammack went 2-for-4 and scored.
Up next: The Mounties play three nonconference games next week.
MSAC hosts Orange Coast College on Tuesday, and then they travel to and hosts Oxnard on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
