College Baseball:
Citrus College handed Ohlone its first loss of the 2025 season.
And the Owls had to produce late to pull of that feat.
They scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth to secure the win.
The game featured a combined 33 runs, 27 hits, and 10 pitchers.
Ten of the 27 were of the extra-based variety.
Ohlone’s biggest lead of the game was 16-12 in the ninth, and Citrus enjoyed an 11-3 advantage in the top of the fifth inning.
Eddie Rocha got the win after a scoreless ninth inning.
Rocha avoided allowing the Renegades another insurance run after walking two and allowing one hit.
Will Anderson walked, doubled, homered, scored twice and drove in four runs.
Brendan Comerford walked, singled twice, doubled, drove in two and scored three times.
Gavin Shaddix went 3-for-6 with a double, two runs and an RBI.
Carson Burnett drew a pair of walks, scored twice and had two RBIs.
Diego Menjivar allowed five runs on four hits over 2 1/3 innings to get the loss.
Menjivar walked two and fanned a pair of Citrus batters.
Isaac Nava played the role of hero.
Nava walked, singled, scored twice and hit a three-run walk-off HR.
Alex Salazar’s two-run pinch-hit single in the bottom of the ninth pulled the Owls to within 16-14 of the Renegades.
Nathan Hellein drew a pair of walks, and his grand slam in the bottom of the third inning gave Citrus a 9-3 lead.
Dustin Yela doubled and tripled.
Luke Willison went 3-for-5 with a double, three runs and one RBI.
Derek Leader went 2-for-2 with a walk, two runs and an RBI.
Jordan Quintero drew two walks and scored one run.
Joshua Cortinas had one hit, run and one RBI.
Kirk Felikian drew a pair of walks, scored and had one RBI.
Up next: The Owls travel to Cypress on Tuesday and host Riverside on Friday.
