Bryan Richman Goes 3-for-4 w/a Triple & Four RBIs in PCC’s 11-8 South Coast Conference Victory Over Rio Hondo

College Baseball:

PCC earned its first South Coast Conference series of the season on Saturday afternoon.

The Lancers claimed an 11-8 victory over Rio Hondo College to take the series, 2-1.

PCC and RHC combined to score 18 of the game’s 19 runs in the first four innings.

The Roadrunners scored once in the top of the ninth, but Matt Garcia came in to get the final three outs.

Connor Campbell earned the win after going eight innings and allowing eight runs (two earned) on eight hits.

Campbell didn’t issue a walk and struck out four to improve his personal record to 3-1.

Matt Covarrubias singled and scored two runs.

Anthony Guzman walked, scored, and his two-run double in the top of the second inning gave RHC a 4-2 lead.

Michael Salcedo went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.

Wes Pendleton singled in a run and drove in another on a sac fly.

Ryan Duron singled and scored.

David Castillo walked and scored.

Levi Valadez was charged with the loss after allowing six runs on four hits over 1 1/3 innings.

Valadez walked three and didn’t register a strikeout.

Bryan Richman went 3-for-4 with a two-run single, a two-run triple and two runs scored.

Joaquin Salcedo walked, singled twice and drove in a run.

Tyler Garcia drew a bases loaded walk, hit a two-run HR and scored three times.

Isaac Ton singled, scored and walked with the bases loaded.

Omar Cisneros drew two walks and scored a pair of runs.

Adrian Roman singled and scored.

Thomas Villanueva walked, singled and scored twice.

Devin Munoz single and was hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded.

Brandon Gill drew a walk with the bases juiced.

In all, Rio Hondo pitching gifted PCC four runs with three walks and a hit batter with the bases loaded.

On the flip side, three Pasadena City College errors cost them five runs.

Up next: The Lancers head to LA Harbor for the first of a three-game SCC set.

The Seahawks were swept by Compton by a combined margin of 43-18.
