Baseball:
Mt. SAC scored nine runs in the top of the 12th inning to claim an 11-2 South Coast Conference victory at El Camino.
Three Mounties relievers combined to go eight scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, no walks and five strikeouts.
Hudson Castillo was charged with two runs on six hits over four innings.
Castillo didn’t issue a walk and fanned three.
Josh Torres did the heavy lifting in the pen, going five scoreless, allowing one hit and striking out a trio of ECC batters.
Sam Silversmith was credited with the win after a scoreless 10th and 11th innings, and Jeremiah Sibrian got the final three outs.
Gil Solis singled, doubled and scored.
Aden Laureano singled in a run.
Caden Lewis went 2-for-5 with an RBI.
And Slater Nunez singled and scored.
Adrian Pineda went the first eight innings for the Warriors, and he surrendered two runs (one earned) on six hits.
Pineda issued two walks and registered seven strikeouts.
Henry Sorman got the loss after surrendering five runs on four hits and two walks over 3 1/3 innings.
The Mounties roughed up Will DeBlanc for four runs on three hits and three walks in just 1/3 of an inning.
Mt. SAC out-hit El Camino, 13-7, and nine separate Mounties had at least one base hit.
Landon White had a two-run double in the 12th inning, while Bryan Bradshaw and Miguel Perez singles drove in two runs apiece in the nine-run 12th inning.
White went 3-for-6 with a run and two RBIs.
Bradshaw walked and scored two runs.
Ty Thomas walked, had two doubles, scored and drove in one.
Diego Ortiz walked, singled and scored.
Tyler Stull drew a pair of walks, singled, scored twice and had one RBI.
Perez was 2-for-6 with a run and those two RBIs.
Cole Nachreiner tripled and scored.
Jackson Giacone walked, singled, scored and drove in one run.
Noah Rodriguez went 1-for-2 with a run and one RBI.
Up next: The Mounties go for the three-game sweep on Saturday at noon in Walnut.
