Bonita Overcomes Five-Run Deficit to Defeat Kaiser, 8-6, in 2025 Season Opener; Dominic Garcia Went 3-for-3 w/2 Runs

It looked as though Bonita was getting off to a slow start in its 2025 season opener.

Kaiser led 5-0 after completing the top of the third inning.

And BHS pitching had surrendered four hits, four walks and two hit batters.

The Bearcats, however, rallied, including scoring four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to claim an 8-6 victory in a Pizza Chalet (South Hills) Tournament contest.

Bonita’s ace, Camden Farina, went 3 1/3 innings, and he was charged with five runs (two earned) on four hits.

Farina issued four walked and fanned three KHS batters.

Evan Nguyen went two innings, and he allowed one run on three hits and struck out one.

Adam Raab and Ryder Gibson combined to get the final five outs.

Gibson was credited with the win after BHS scored those four runs in the sixth.

Tino Cuellas went 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs.

Issac Estrada walked, singled, scored and drove in a run.

Isaiah Arteaga went 2-for-4 and scored.

Joey Chavez singled and drove in a run on a sac fly.

Alberto Arteaga singled, scored and had one RBI.

Aldo Garcia had one hit and an RBI.

Zeke Isaak Cortez went the first 3 2/3 innings for Kaiser, and he allowed three runs on six hits.

Cortez walked two and fanned a pair of Bearcats.

Aiden Gonzalez provided 1 1/3 innings in relief, and he was charged with three runs (two earned) on one hit and three walks.

Danny Ramirez was saddled with the loss after allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits over his one inning of work.

Dominic Garcia went 3-for-3 with a walk, double and two runs scored.

Austin Owens walked, singled twice and scored a pair of runs.

Jarrett Kozma went 1-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.

Andrew Sanchez, Parker Alexander and Judah Reeve walked, singled, scored and drove in one run apiece.

Brady Horn drove in a run on a sac fly.
