Girls Basketball:
Bonita wore down Walnut in Tuesday’s Palomares League contest in La Verne.
BHS took a 22-20 lead into the break.
But the Lady Bearcats would secure a 57-35 victory after going on a 35-15 run in the second half.
With two games to play, Bonita trails first-place Claremont by one game.
Lexi Mercado hit three 3’s, and she scored a game-high 23 points.
Jayden Uballe chipped in with 10 points and Tressa Beatty had nine, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Walnut got scoring from just three of its players.
Claire Olia led the way with 17, while Kameryn Perea-Saupan and Andrina Bramucci scored 10 and eight points, respectively.
Brooke Van Duyne hit a pair of 3-pointers, and she finished with six points.
