Wrestling:
Four wrestlers from 210 Prep Sports programs claimed individual titles at this weekend’s Montclair Tournament.
Northview had a pair of champs, and they finished second as a team with 192 points.
The Vikings trailed Walnut (237), who had a tournament-best five individual champions.
Elijah Butler secured Northview’s first title after he pinned Arroyo’s Julian Lopez at 1:24 in the 113-pound title bout.
The Vikings’ Michael Vassalle defeated Walnut’s Andrew Tsoy, 15-5, to claim the 190-pound championship.
Upland’s Miko Duterte pinned Marshall Fundamental’s Diego McDonald at 3:59 in the 150-pound title match.
Rancho Cucamonga heavyweight Brayden Kilgore pinned Isacc Mendoza (Chino Hills) at 4:00.
Northview’s Matthew Ortiz (138 pounds), Marshall’s Isaac Benavidez (144) and Diego McDonald (150), RCHS’ Jayden Espinoza (157), Chino Hills’ Roberto Santos (165), Upland’s Keith Warren (215) and CHHS’ Isacc Mendoza (285) each placed second on Saturday.
