Haqq & Ragguette Combine for 36 Points in Claremont’s 57-47 Palomares League Victory Over Diamond Bar; CHS Outscored DBHS, 10-0, in OT

Girls Basketball:

Claremont had to work overtime to keep its share of the Palomares League’s top spot.

Trailing 28-21 at the half, the Wolfpack forced overtime.

And CHS would claim a 57-47 victory by outscoring their visitors from Diamond Bar, 10-0, in the extra period.

Suraya Haqq scored all 10 of Claremont’s OT points, and she finished with 19 points, five rebounds, seven assists and five steals.

Iyla Ragguette chipped in with 17 points, 10 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.

Zara Achondo provided 13 points, two rebounds and two steals.

Erika Liang scored a game-high 23 points for DBHS, but CHS held her to seven second-half points.

Jaylyn Winston finished with 17 points for the Brahmas.
