Queen of the Hill Tournament:

Glendora’s Samantha Sachs cruised to a 130-pound championship this weekend at the Queen of the Hill Tournament in Corona.

The No. 1 seed needed six victories to earn her title, and she dominated throughout.

Sachs pinned her first four opponents, including sticks of Abbygail Villanueva (Troy at 1:54) Gabriell Wright (Tahquitz at 1:03), Victoria Espinoza (Palm Desert, 3:04) and Lilly Bartlett (Corona Senior) in 86 seconds.

Sachs defeated Lauren Zaragoza of Brawley Union, 9-0, to set up a title bout with Torrey Pines’ Ruby Julien-Newsom.

The Tartans senior claimed a 16-4 major decision in the final.

For her efforts, Sachs was voted Champion of Champions by the coaches at the tourney.

San Marino’s Leah Lopez placed fourth at 100 pounds.

Los Osos’ Mackenzie Matthews was seventh at 105.

Sussette Bell of Rancho Cucamonga defeated Poway’s Ava Ebrahimi, 3-2, to finish third at 125 pounds.

Chino’s Natalie Blanco was pinned by Kayleen Tuavao at 1:53 in the 155-pound title match to place second.

Tatiana Chavarin of Ayala edged Golden Valley’s Aolani Lefotu, 8-6, to finish fifth in the 155-pound class.
