Girls Basketball:
As odd as it might seem to read, Pasadena’s 56-41 victory over their visitors from Muir was not a Pacific League contest.
The new and lame new league set up has everyone just playing one time each, so MHS and PHS had to schedule a nonleague showdown.
And that took place on Saturday night.
Megan Vuong led the way with 22 points.
Vuong hit 7-of-15 from the field, including 5-of-8 from 3-point land.
Vuong also totaled nine rebounds and a pair of assists.
Franmarie Diaz struggled from the field (3-of-12), but she converted on 10-of-11 from the free-throw line, and she finished with 16 points.
Patil Tajerian scored seven points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked two shots.
PHS scoring: Megan Vuong 22, Franmarie Diaz 16, Patil Tajerian 7, Matea Miyake-Trapp 6, Khisma Tan 5
Up next: The Bulldogs host Village Christian on Tuesday at 5.
Records: Pasadena (5-3); Muir (4-11)
