Girls Basketball:

La Salle welcomed Orange Lutheran into their gym on Tuesday evening.

In a battle of Lancers’ programs, O-Lu took an early 16-6 lead after eight minutes of play.

La Salle would outscore Orange Lutheran, 34-33, the rest of the way.

But the girls from Orange County headed home with a 49-40 victory, and they remained unbeaten.

Kayla Watanabe led O-Lu with 15 points and Olivia Taleon chipped in with 13.

Watanabe’s four 3-pointers matched La Salle’s team total.

It’s games like this that Scott Wiard needs and wants to get his Lady Lancers ready for league, and more importantly, the CIF-SS playoffs.

Aislin Tamez Torres had a game-high 19 points for La Salle, including half of their four 3-pointers.

Casey Higgins finished with nine points in the loss.
