Boys Water Polo:
Thanks to LOHS water polo for this report:
After Last Week’s 8-6 victory over Upland in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs, The Grizzlies earned a spot in next week’s semifinal after a thrilling 11-10 triumph over Temple City.
Thomas Shirley had a team-high four goals for LOHS.
Caden Rodriquez and Aidan Mattera chipped in with three goals apiece.
And in a match that every goal mattered, Adam Flores scored once.
The defensive hero of the match was undoubtedly Mike Hale.
Hale’s performance in the goal was nothing short of spectacular, with 15 saves.
And that included a critical early block of a 5-meter penalty shot.
His game-ending save was the defining moment that secured the win for Los Osos, and it propelled them into the semifinal round.
Up next: The Grizzlies travel to Santa Monica High School on Tuesday, and the winner will earn itself a spot in the D-3 final.
SMHS (19-15) defeated Mission Viejo, 16-10, at MVHS.
