To say Compton struggled in Saturday night’s American-Metro Conference game at Chaffey would be a massive understatement.
The Tartars were able to manage just one first down in a 55-0 loss in Rancho Cucamonga.
Chaffey had a 270-13 advantage in total offense.
Julian Viramontes completed 9 of 12 for 98 yards.
Viramontes connected with Jacob Hetrick, Jeremiah Beck and Corey Cabriales on TD passes of 3, 5 and 30 yards, respectively.
William Harper went 3-for-3 for 29 yards, including a 9-yard TD pass to Brennan White.
Christian Bozeman carried the ball five times for 51 yards, and that included a 47-yard TD run to get Chaffey on the board.
Alapaki Paiva had TD runs of 3 and 40 yards.
Paiva gained 47 yards on six carries.
Eric Copeland led the Panthers with 52 rushing yards on eight carries.
Cabriales caught three passes for 46 yards.
Cabriales also returned a punt 36 yards for a TD.
White had three catches for 29 yards.
Joseph Ruiz (2-for-26) and Beck (2-for-18) combined for four receptions for 44 yards.
Josiah Wash, Nicolas Uscategui Guerra and Jeremiah Burchette had three tackles apiece for the Chaffey defense.
Wash also picked a pass and brought it back 36 yards.
Angel Torres also picked off a Compton pass.
