Football:
Northview defeated Valle Vista League power San Dimas for the fourth consecutive year.
And it wasn’t even close.
The Vikings cruised to a 40-10 victory over the Saints at Covina District Field.
Northview joins Bonita and La Canada as the three 210 Prep Sports programs (out of 30) without a loss.
There are three games to play in the 2024 regular season, but the Vikings went a long way towards a fourth consecutive VVL championship.
NHS took a 20-3 lead into the half, and they outscored SDHS, 13-0, in the fourth quarter.
Keanu Tauvao is without question one of the best running backs in the San Gabriel Valley.
Tauvao continued his elite status with 190 rushing yards and three scores in the win.
He surpassed the 1,000-yard mark and now has 14 TD’s in just six games played.
Erik Jimenez threw a 70-yard TD pass to Jaishon Bledsoe, and he scored on a 6-yard TD run.
Robert Lucero scored on a 7-yard TD run in the second half for NHS.
The San Dimas offense consisted of a 31-yard field goal by Brady Arriaga, and a 45-yard TD run from Tristan Fierro.
Fierro led the SDHS ground game with 125 yards.
Julian Vigil accounted for 110 yards of total offense in the loss.
In 2024, San Dimas has been blown out by their crosstown rival (Bonita, 47-7) and VVL rival (Northview, 40-10) by a combined margin of 87-17.
NHS has an insane 268-47 advantage over Durango, South Hills, Glendora, Covina, Village Christian, Diamond Ranch and San Dimas, respectively.
Up next: Both programs will be in action next Friday.
The Saints host Baldwin Park and the Vikings travel to Alta Loma.
