Flag Football:

Glendora looked like they might be shut out for the third consecutive game.

The Tartans recently dropped Palomares League games to Bonita (7-0) and Ayala (8-0), and they trailed 6-0 at West Covina at the half.

Whatever it was that Coach Greg Bidoli said at the half seemed to work.

GHS scored 13 points in the second half, and they secured an eighth win of the season thanks to a 13-6 nonleague victory.

Katelyn Phan had her best game of the season with a touchdown reception, an interception and five flag pulls.

Emily Husung picked off her team-leading eighth interception.

And Paola Casas anchored the middle of the Tartans defense with five flag pulls and several pass deflections.

Offensively, Rylee Franks was 15-of-25 for 114 yards.

Franks tossed 2 TD passes and one interception.

Hailey Travisano rushed for 56 yards, and Olivia Martin had four receptions, including one TD.

Zaida Herrera and Charolette Bohn had three catches apiece.

Up next: The Tartans finish out the regular season on Monday at 6 at Louie Pompei Memorial Park in Glendora.

Quotable:

GHS coach, Greg Bidoli: “I’m happy for our girls for getting the victory after being down at the half. Now we need to get ready for a very good Claremont team next Monday,”
