Northview Holds on for Five-Set Victory at Covina; Vikings Improved to 2-1 in Valle Vista League Matches

Girls Volleyball:

The only thing better than beating a rival is having to go the distance to earn that win.

That was the case for the Northview girls’ volleyball program.

The Vikings defeated their hosts from Covina in five sets.

NHS won by scores of 25-19, 23-25, 25-16, 26-28 and 15-10.

Ava Frymark had 11 kills, four aces, 21 assists and two blocks.

Megan Arellano chipped in with 13 kills and one ace.

Jennylyn Gozun added eight kills and an ace.

Salai Osi finished with eight kills and one block.

Marilyn Sandoval contributed one kills, two aces and three blocks.

Beverly Franco had 20 digs and seven assists.

Olivia Leanos provided 17 digs and four aces.

Up next: NHS and CHS will both be in action on Tuesday at 5:30.

The Colts travel to Charter Oak, and the Vikings head to Wilson for Valle Vista League matches.
