Bonita’s Tressa Beatty Tosses Four TD Passes in Tuesday’s 35-0 Nonleague Victory at Covina; Bearcats Remain Undefeated (9-0)

One day after a 33-22 Palomares League victory at Claremont, the Bonita girls flag football team was back at it on Tuesday.

The Bearcats improved to 9-0 after a 35-0 nonleague victory at Covina.

BHS took a 20-0 lead into the half, and the outcome was never in doubt.

Tressa Beatty was about as effective as a quarterback could be.

The Bearcats’ junior completed 19 of her 26 pass attempts for 186 yards.

Beatty tossed four TD passes and she didn’t turn the ball over.

Ten separate BHS receivers caught at least one pass on Tuesday.

Brianna Sandmark and Kody McKinney has monster games for BHS.

Sandmark caught six passes for 64 yards and two TD’s.

McKinney reeled in five passes for 49 yards, and she matched Sandmark with a pair of TD receptions of her own.

Simone Washington (3-for-29) and Laila Washington (2-for-24) combined to catch five passes for 53 yards.

Maddy Simison had a 9-yard TD reception.

Kenda Anderson caught a pair of passes for 24 yards.

Laney Sweeney had two catches for 23 yards.

Haley Kurrey (3-for-30) and Laila Washington (2-for-25) combined for 55 rushing yards on five carries.

Sandmark had a 15-yard run in Tuesday’s win.

Through the first nine games in school history, Bonita has outscored its opponents by a combined margin of 270-54.

Up next: The Bearcats will host Ayala next Wednesday at 7:15 in a battle of the two favorites to win the Palomares League title.
