Nina Hemsley & Lauren Furnald Combined for 38 Kills in Etiwanda’s Four-Set Victory at San Dimas

It doesn’t matter what sport it is.

The most effective way to take a program to the next level is to challenge oneself and compete against the toughest opponents possible.

And that’s exactly what San Dimas did on Thursday night.

The Saints hosted an Etiwanda juggernaut that is ranked 190 positions ahead of SDHS in the current MaxPreps state ranking.

SDHS trailed two games to none, but they earned one set before falling in four.

EHS won by scores of 25-8, 25-21, 24-26 and 25-19.

Nina Hemsley led the 32nd-ranked team in California with 20 kills.

Lauren Furnald contributed 18 kills, and Brooke Hansen finished with 37 assists.

For San Dimas, Jayden Hanson had a big night with 15 kills, five digs and 13 assists.

Bobbie Torres had eight kills and Jaelyn Ramos chipped in with six blocks.

Priscilla Romero had seven kills and Natalie Starkey finished with four digs.

Up next: EHS will open Baseline League play on Monday at St. Lucy’s at 6.

SDHS will host Colony on September 25th at 4.
