Haley Kurey Rushes for 109 Yards & Three TD’s in Bonita’s 32-13 Victory at La Serna; Bearcats Improved to 5-0

Bonita got off to a slow start in Wednesday’s showdown at La Serna.

The Bearcats scored on the last play of the first half to take a 7-0 lead into the break.

BHS, however, got their offense going in the second half, and they cruised to a 32-13 victory.

Haley Kurey had a big day for the girls from La Verne.

The sophomore rushed for 109 yards on five carries.

And that included three TD’s.

Her longest run of the game was a 60-yard sprint into the end zone.

Tressa Beatty completed 8 of 16 for 135 yards.

Beatty tossed a pair of TD passes and she was picked once.

Kody McKinney had three carries for 21 yards.

But McKinney did her biggest damage through the air, as she caught three passes for 86 yards, including a pair of TD’s.

Brianna Sandmark had two receptions for 27 yards, and she picked a pass on defense.

Riley Navarro caught two passes for 10 yards, and Ava Flores caught a 12-yard pass from Beatty on Wednesday.

Kayla Heinlein was a beast of defense, totaling eight tackles to lead Bonita.

Malia Misawa finished with four tackles and an interception, while Hayden Andrew and Grace Tolan chipped in with three tackles apiece.

Up next: The Bearcats host St. Lucy’s on Saturday night at 7.
