Flag Football:
For the second consecutive night, the Glendora flag football program claimed an impressive victory to start the 2024 season.
The Tartans led 12-0 at the break and they went on to defeat Covina, 24-12, at Covina District Field.
To their credit, the Colts rallied to tie the game at 12-12 in the second half, but Glendora finished strong.
Rylee Franks had another solid effort on Tuesday.
The GHS freshman completed 22 of her 34 pass attempts.
And that included four TD’s and one pick.
In the first two games of her freshman year, Franks has tossed seven TD passes, and she’s been picked twice.
Milana Luera had a monster game for the Tartans.
Luera caught seven passes and four went for scores.
Hailey Travisano rushed for 45 yards, and she caught four passes.
Delilah Estevez and Sadie Diaz had five receptions apiece.
Defensively, Emily Husung had four flag pulls and an interception.
Sofia Freking totaled five flag pulls in the win.
Up next: The Tartans host St. Lucy’s on Saturday morning at 9.
