Baseball:
The Ventura County Pirates edged the Arroyo Seco Sentinels, 7-6, in a nonleague summer league game.
VCP led 6-2 in the bottom of the second inning before the Sentinels scored four times in the top of the fifth.
The Pirates scored once in the bottom of the fifth with what turned out to be the game-winning run.
The Pirates got to Ramirez for six runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks over three innings.
Jameson Ferraro was charged with one run on two hits over two innings.
Ferraro walked one and struck out a pair of Pirates.
Sean Yamaguchi went 2-for-4 and scored three runs.
Brandon Nguyen walked, singled, doubled, scored and drove in three runs.
Jacob Juarez walked, singled twice and scored two runs.
Aidan Jbara, Rider Gordon and Jose Mariano singled and drove in one run apiece.
Mann got the win after going four scoreless innings and surrendered just one hit.
Mann issued one walk and fanned a pair of Sentinels’ batters.
Bryan Richman walked, reached base on an error and scored a pair of runs.
Cider Canon walked, had an RBI triple and scored.
Will Allen drew three walks, singled and scored.
Grant Werdesheim went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Devon Eskridge finished with two hits, a run and one RBI.
Mark Manuel drew two walks, singled and drove in one run.
