Softball:
The Muir softball program had a three-run lead and they were six outs away from a trip to the CIF-SS Division 7 championship game.
But Eastside High of Lancaster scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning, and they got two more in the seventh to edge the Mustangs, 8-6, on Saturday.
Hailey Lavendier went 6 1/3 innings to earn the win, and she allowed six runs (one earned) on five hits.
Laverndier issued three walks and struck out three Muir batters.
Luz Navarro got the final two outs to earn the save, including one via strikeout.
Gianna Butler hit a three-run HR for the Mustangs.
Ariel Flores walked, doubled and scored.
Gabby Milton walked, scored and had a two-run double.
Abigail Milton walked, scored and had one RBI.
Alyssa Perez went 2-for-3 and scored.
Eriel Wallace walked and scored.
Jazmin Jaquez went the distance, and she was charged with eight runs (four earned) on eight hits.
Jaquez only walked one and she fanned four EHS batters.
Luz Navarro went 2-for-4 with two runs.
April Medrano had two doubles, scored a pair of runs and drove in two.
Bethanie Jimenez singled and scored.
Hailey Lavendier doubled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.
