Baseball:

South Hills is one win away from securing at least a share of the Hacienda League championship.

The Huskies rode the arms of Matt Moreno and Matt Manzo to a 5-0 victory at Diamond Bar.

And Walnut picked up a 3-1 road win at Los Altos, so SHHS and WHS are both 8-1 in Hacienda League play.

If South Hills and Walnut win on Thursday, they’ll both get the No. 1 seed out of the Hacienda, because they are in different CIF-SS divisions.

Moreno issued one walk and struck out three Brahmas.

Manzo gave up one hit, walked two and fanned a pair of DBHS batters.

Jayden Henness had two of Diamond Bar’s three hits, and Andrew Toda had the other.

Jacob Smith went five innings, and he was charged with four runs (three earned) on five hits.

Smith issued five walks and struck out a pair of South Hills batters.

Luke Bauer went 3-for-4, with a double, run and one RBI.

Moreno walked, doubled and scored.

Manzo had an RBI single.

Noah Malone drew a pair of walks, singled and scored.

Paul Vazquez walked, singled and scored.
