For the first time in years, the Lady Minutemen faced off with Duarte at their beautiful brand new multi-million dollar tennis complex.
Under new coaching leadership, the Falcons are in the midst of re-establishing a once proud program that has been down in recent years.
Maranatha was far too strong for the Falcons, recording 16 consecutive wins before substituting their alternates in singles.
Singles:
#1: Natalie Arminak – 6-0, 6-0; alt. Doria Chen – 2-6
#2: Grace Yang – 6-1, 6-0; alt. Madison White – 5-7
#3: Kathryn Khalil – 6-1, 6-3, 6-0
Doubles:
#1 Mia Huang/Mia Su – 6-1, 6-0, 6-0
#2 Esmee Eaton/Sofia Celis – 6-1, 6-0, 6-0
#3 Diana Sarksyan/Laura Garabedian – 6-0, 6-0, 6-0
Freshman Grace Yang is 11-0 to start her Maranatha career.
After starting the year playing Division 5 & 6 opponents, the 4-0 Lady Minutemen enter the lion’s den next week, facing two formidable D3 opponents – defending CIF-SS D4 champion, Mark Keppel, on Monday and South Pasadena on Thursday.
