Kalena Lemus and Ganesha sure made it look easy in Thursday’s CIF-SS Division 7 quarterfinal round contest at Maranatha.
Lemus tossed a three-hit shutout in the Giants 13-0 beatdown of the Minutemen.
GHS out-hit MHS, 15-3, including a 5-0 advantage in extra-base hits.
Lemus issued just one walk and struck out 13.
She needed 78 pitches to finish what she started, and 58 went for strikes.
Isabela Guerrero had two singles for Maranatha, and Gigi Aleman had the other.
The Giants offense roughed up Guerrero for 13 runs (eight earned) on 15 hits.
Guerrero walked two and fanned three Ganesha batters.
Mackenzie Ward went 3-for-5 with a double, home run and three RBIs.
Brooklyn Game doubled, tripled, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.
Jayden Tamura singled twice, doubled, scored two runs and drove in a pair.
Madison Pike walked twice, singled and scored two runs.
Mikayla Martinez singled, scored and had an RBI.
Savanah Duncan went 3-for-4, with two runs and an RBI.
Martiann Leach singled twice and scored two runs.
Up next: GHS travels to Crean Lutheran on Saturday in the semifinals.
The Saints (15-10-1) defeated Tahquitz, 8-3, in their quarterfinal round contest.
