Baseball:
Maranatha and Charter Oak, two of the SGV area’s premier programs, met up on Saturday in a nonleague contest.
The Minutemen scored seven runs in the top of the fifth inning and held on for a 9-7 victory.
Bryan Richman got the win after going two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out one.
Dominic Almazan doubled twice, scored and had two RBIs.
Diego Ortiz singled, doubled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.
Athen Malone walked twice, doubled, scored and had an RBI.
Nathan Arevalos went 2-for-4 and scored.
Josiah Martinez singled and scored.
Anthony Vasquez walked, singled, doubled and scored.
Julian Salmon singled and scored and Samuel Morales singled for COHS.
