Bonita leapfrogged Glendora into second place in the Palomares League.
On Tuesday, the Bearcats defeated GHS, 3-1, behind ace Brooklyn Shroyer.
Shroyer went the distance and surrendered just one run on two hits.
She walked a pair of Tartans and struck out eight.
Makenna Coleman singled and scored.
Ryan Speh doubled, and Allison Waite drove in the only GHS run on a sixth-inning sac fly.
Bridget Nemeth was stuck with the loss.
Nemeth went the distance and allowed three runs on three hits.
She didn’t issue a walk and fanned a pair.
Alyssa Doucette singled, and her two-run HR in the fifth gave the Bearcats a 3-0 lead.
Kailey Scott doubled and scored.
Mireya Rico singled and had an RBI.
Camryn Van Valkenburgh singled and scored.
And Avery Bowers doubled in Tuesday’s win.
Up next: If Mother Nature doesn’t own the day (Wednesday), GHS will travel to Claremont at 3:30.
