Softball:
Northview opened Valle Vista League play on Monday, and defeated Charter Oak, 10-7, in a game that featured 17 runs and 29 hits.
Twelve of the 29 were of the extra-base variety.
Ariel Fierro got the win, despite allowing six runs on 10 hits over 4 1/3 innings.
She didn’t issue a walk and fanned two.
Amber Rodriguez went 2 2/3 innings and surrendered just one run on five hits.
Rodriguez didn’t walk a batter either, and she struck out one.
Brooke Subia had a monster game for COHS.
Subia doubled, hit two home runs, scored three runs and finished with four RBIs.
Jayla Brown doubled, homered, scored twice and drove in a pair.
Candace Ceballos went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Jocelyn Robles singled twice and scored.
Offensively for NHS, Amber Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and she scored one run.
Fierro helped her own cause with a double, triple, one run and a pair of RBIs.
Victoria Roman singled, doubled and scored three times.
Caitlyn Wilson walked, singled twice and drove in a run.
Sarah Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs.
Breyawna Tucker singled and scored.
Isabell Galvan doubled and scored.
Joy Sanchez singled in a run.
