Baseball:
One year after Northview swept San Dimas and claimed an outright Valle Vista League championship, the Saints got their payback this weekend.
On Friday, SDHS defeated visiting NHS, 5-3, as their bats came alive late.
Jude Favela, however, took all of the drama out of Saturday’s showdown at Northview.
Favela threw a one-hit shutout and the Saints cruised to a 7-0 victory and sweep of the Vikings.
He issued one walk and fanned 10.
It only took Favela 67 pitches to finish what he started, and 51 went for strikes.
Northview star Dean Curley walked and singled, but the rest of the Vikings lineup went a combined 0-for-18.
Jacob Ramos got the loss after allowing four runs on seven hits over 3 2/3 innings.
He walked three and fanned two.
SDHS got to Justin Hernandez for three runs on three hits in 2 1/3 innings.
Hernandez walked one and struck out one.
Landon White walked, singled twice, homered, scored a pair of runs and had a game-high four RBIs.
Rocco Regan singled, doubled and drove in a pair.
Ryder Young went 2-for-3, with a walk, run and RBI.
Ryan Castro had three singles and scored twice.
Kasen Khansarinia scored twice in Saturday’s win.
