Girls Basketball:
Perhaps La Salle coach Scott Wiard said it best in his email while sending in Tuesday night’s game stats.
“Winning in the Del Rey (League) is really hard, especially on the road.”
And his Lancers left Long Beach with a hard-fought 63-62 victory over St. Anthony in overtime.
The Lancers are now 3-1 in league play.
Audrey Chen had a game-high 27 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Casey Higgins chipped in with 12 points and Ellie Chen provided 10 points.
The Chen sisters combined to make four of La Salle’s six 3-pointers.
Ryann Bennett led St. Anthony with 21 points.
Anaya Tunu had 16, and Melaiah Joseph finished with 10.
Up next: The Lancers host Bishop Montgomery on Thursday at 7.
