In the final match of the first round of Olympic League play, the undefeated Lady Minutemen (8-3, 4-0 in league) faced the winless Warriors of Heritage Christian in a home match at Pasadena High School.

The match played out as one might expect, as the Warriors were just outmatched by the more powerful Lady Minutemen, in MHS’s quickest match of the season.

Today’s win was Maranatha’s 7th straight.

The second round of league play starts Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Burbank Tennis Center, as Maranatha visits Village Christian. Maranatha won their first meeting, 14-4, as doubles swept, going 9-0, while singles went 5-4.

It will also be a rematch between the league’s top two players, MHS’s Stella Hsieh (12-0 in league play) and VCS’s Karen Shin (11-1 in league). Hsieh won their previous battle, 6-3.
