Boys Water Polo:
West Covina picked up two more victories on Thursday.
In their first match, the Bulldogs defeated West Torrance, 10-6, and they’d go on to edge Sunny Hills, 10-8, to close out the night.
In game one, Ryan Diaz was on fire, blocking 8 of 11 shots before getting poked in the eye and leaving the game.
First-year goalie Matthew Ugarte kept West Covina’s lead healthy making 7 of 10 saves
Freshman Joseph Savoy stepped up and collected three steals.
Matthew Munoz led WCHS with five goals and three steals.
Zachary Elhussieny put away two goals for the Bulldogs.
Izaiah Reyes and Matthew Vasquez both chipped one goal and one assist apiece.
In game two, Munoz scored six goals and had two assists in the two-goal victory.
Elhussieny and Aaron Encarnacion added two goals apiece in the win.
Diaz had 13 saves.
