Girls Wrestling:
2022 CIF-SS Southern Division Individuals at SDHS:
San Dimas may have finished second at Saturday’s CIF-SS Southern Division Individuals in team points and Masters qualifiers to VVL rival, Northview.
But the Saints had a tournament-high three CIF-SS individual champions and eight of their wrestlers will move forward.
SDHS senior Esperanza Dorantes won her first career CIF title after claiming the 126-pound division.
Cameron Ortiz (131) and Juliana Marquez (160) also represented their program with individual championships.
Northview had tournament-highs in team points (263.5) and qualified 12 for Masters.
Savannah Lewis (150) was Northview’s lone champion on Saturday.
Alexis Garza (106), Leilani Lazaro (116), Baylee Carrillo (126) and Andrea Mateo (143) all had runner-up finishes for the Vikings.
Arroyo’s Briana Gonzalez (101) and Emilie Gonzalez helped the program finish in third place, behind Northview and San Dimas.
Up next: The girls will try to earn their spot at state at this weekend’s Masters Meet at Marina High School in Huntington Beach.
