College Baseball:
San Joaquin Delta handed PCC its first loss of the 2022 season.
The Mustangs scored nine runs in the first four innings, and held on for a 14-12 victory in the championship game of the SoCal Challenge Tournament.
SJD got to PCC starter Casey Popham for nine runs on six hits and four walks in his 3 2/3 innings of work.
Jack Tomlinson had a big game for the Mustangs.
Tomlinson walked, singled, doubled, hit a two-run blast, scored three runs and drove in three.
Blaine French had a pair of doubles, including one in the fourth inning that plated three.
He finished with four RBIs and scored twice.
Kordell Brown singled twice, doubled, scored three runs and had one RBI.
Connor Semone was credited with the win.
Semone went six innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits.
He walked two and struck out 11 PCC batters.
The Lancers scored 11 of their 12 runs from the sixth inning on.
Max Blessinger had three of PCC’s 12 hits.
He singled twice, doubled and scored three runs.
Marco Martinez went 2-for-5, with an RBI and two runs scored.
Raider Tello walked twice, had an RBI double and sac fly.
Jakob Guardado had three hits, scored once and drove in two.
Collin Johnson walked, singled, scored and had a pair of RBIs.
Brennan Beckley contributed a two-run single.
Yuto Mimura walked and scored twice.
