Boys Basketball:

Jesuit might be 416 miles away from Damien High School.

The Marauders, however, got the local treatment.

As they’ve done all year, Damien jumped on an opponent and cruised to its 15 consecutive victory to begin the 2021-22 basketball season.

The Spartans held a 25-point lead the break and claimed an 79-59 victory over Jesuit in the first round of the Classic at Damien’s Platinum Division.

Jimmy Oladokun and RJ Smith had 19 points apiece in the win.

Jesuit’s Jayden Teat led all scorers with 21 points.

Spivey Word finished with nine points in the win.

Up next: The Spartans will face Owyhee on Tuesday night at 8:30.

The Storm (6-4) defeated St. Bernard, 66-54, in their first-round contest.
