Downey outscored the visiting Tartans, 7-2, in the second half, and forced overtime.
GHS, however, stayed unbeaten, defeating the Vikings, 14-12, in overtime.
Hailey Andress paced the offense with six goals, three assists, five steals, four field blocks and an ejection drawn.
Rachelle Herrera had two goals, six assists, six steals, two field blocks and an ejection drawn.
Jezreel Gomez added a pair of goals and an ejection drawn
Anika Nichols scored once, had three steals, an ejection drawn, and one block.
Liz Ramirez contributed a goal and an assist, and Payton Gregus finished with one goal an assist and an ejection drawn.
Katie Duckworth had 10 saves in goal, as well as an assist and a steal.
