West Covina Entering League Play With Some Momentum; Bulldogs Defeat Pomona, 10-6, on Wednesday

After an o-5 start to the 2021 baseball season, West Covina has won four of its last seven games.

And that includes Wednesday’s 10-6 victory at Pomona.

Edwin Segovia went four innings to pick up the win for the Bulldogs.

He allowed three runs on one hit and walked seven.

Kevin Jimenez closed out the victory with three innings of relief.

Jimenez allowed three runs on five hits.

He walked four and struck out three Pomona batters.

Offensively, Adrian Gayosso went 2-for-4, with a single, double, a run scored and two RBIs.

Thomas Gutierrez singled, doubled, scored and had an RBI.

Brandon Holmes had an RBI double and run scored.

Jesse Chavez singled, scored and drove in two runs.

Edwin Segovia and Evan Buhac both scored once and had an RBI.

Frank Hernandez scored a pair of runs for the Bulldogs and Joey Polanoco scored once.

Up next: West Covina will host South Hills on Friday.
