Monrovia Scores Three Runs Late in Tuesday’s 4-2 Victory Over Pasadena Poly

Monrovia got three sixth-inning runs to outlast Pasadena Poly, 4-2, on Tuesday.

Adam Arther was stuck with the loss.

Arther surrendered four unearned runs on four hits over his 5 2/3 innings of work.

He walked five and struck out six.

Chantz Powers walked, singled and scored.

Coleman Mitchell went 2-for-3 and scored and Dominic Teneriello had an RBI and run scored in the win.

Anthony Chiovare and Henry Baker had RBIs and Nathan Thompson scored for the Wildcats.

Steven Escarcega went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits.

He walked three and fanned four.

Lucas Marquez was credited with the win, going two scoreless innings and striking out a pair of Poly batters.

Chantz Powers secured the save with a perfect seventh inning of relief.

Powers struck out two of the three batters he faced.

Jason Mayo singled, doubled and scored for the Panthers.

Henry McDonald walked and had an RBI base hit.

Sam Howell walked and singled and Sean Asperger singled and scored.

Up next: Monrovia will open league play Friday at San Marino.
