Football:
Claremont opened the 2026 season at 1-3.
The Wolfpack fell to Valley View, Glendora and Pacifica by a combined margin of 92-41 in week zero, two and three, respectively.
Since then, Claremont has pieced together four consecutive wins.
That includes victories over Kaiser (49-7), Diamond Ranch (49-20), Chino (28-25) and Thursday’s 38-10 beatdown of visiting Los Osos.
CHS is now 3-0 in Valle Vista League games, which has them tied for first with the reigning VVL champs (Alta Loma) with just two games to play, including a regular-season ending showdown at ALHS.
It’s no secret that with a mostly-healthy Brandon Coronado at quarterback, Claremont is a completely different team.
How Coronado goes so goes the Wolfpack.
As of late, No. 2 in the maroon uniform has been beating opponents with his legs and right arm.
And Coronado took over on Thursday.
He scored TD runs of 16, 40 and 38 yards.
Landon Davis reeled in TD passes of 7 and 13 yards from Coronado.
Ethan Ford got Claremont on the board with a 43-yard field goal in the first quarter.
Los Osos’ two scores came on a 13-yard pass from Hudson Kunzman to Abraham Hernandez and a 26-yard field goal by Devin Silva in the third quarter.
Up next: The Wolfpack travel to San Dimas next Friday at 7.
The Saints (6-2, 2-1) are coming off a 28-14 victory over Chino thanks to 208 rushing yards and four TDs from Jacob Gallegos.
