Football:
Three opponents up and three opponents down for the Bonita football program to start the 2026 season.
The Bearcats have defeated Muir, Diamond Ranch and Western by a combined margin of 109-13.
BHS headed back from Anaheim with a 41-7 victory.
And they put the Pioneers away early.
On the first play from scrimmage, Joseph Lara raced into the end zone from 39 yards out.
Later in the first quarter, Lara rumbled in from three yards to extend the Bearcats advantage to 24-0.
Ryder Grosenbach had a 65-yard pick-six in the first quarter as well.
Nathan Fidone went 4-for-4 on extra point attempts, and he booted field goals of 34 and 27 yards, respectively.
Matt Milazzo reeled in a 7-yard TD pass from Evan Robbins to give Bonita a 31-0 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, Austin Lippert hooked up with Omari Sullivan on a 55-yard TD connection.
The Pioneers lone score came with 5:31 to play in the game.
Ayden Payne caught a 20-yard pass from Ethan Esmailian against the Bearcats backups.
Grosenbach had two picks in the game.
Ace Aguilar and Luca Roselli also intercepted passes for the Bonita defense.
Up next: BHS will battle San Dimas next Friday at Mt. SAC in the annual Smudge Pot rivalry game.
The Bearcats have won the last seven times.
Kickoff is set for 7.
