Baseball:
A remarkable 2026 season ended on Friday for the Etiwanda baseball program.
After opening the season 1-5, the Eagles finished on a 19-4 run.
And that included a 14-1 run to an outright Baseline League championship.
Half of those four losses came in this week’s CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs.
After a 5-4 loss at Corona on Tuesday, Santiago Corona secured an 8-4 victory at EHS on Friday.
The Sharks (19-11) out-hit the Eagles, 11-7, and that included a 4-2 advantage in extra-base hits.
With the game tied at 4-4, Santiago scored one run in the top of the fifth and they crossed the plate three times in the sixth.
Ayden White went 2 2/3 innings, and he was charged with four runs on six hits and a hit batter.
White issued three walks and registered three strikeouts.
Troy Khasaempanth got the win after providing 4 1/3 scoreless innings in relief and allowing just one hit.
He didn’t allow a walk and fanned five EHS batters.
Adam Ornelas walked, singled and scored.
Jaxson Milius singled twice and scored.
James Milam singled and scored.
Luke Severns tripled in a run and scored.
Peyton Ramos had an RBI double.
LJ Roellig walked and singled in a run in the three-run second inning.
Noah Frias went four innings, and he was charged with four runs on six hits.
Frias issued two walks and registered four strikeouts.
Dylan Villegas surrendered four runs on four hits over 1 2/3 innings.
He walked one and fanned one SHS batter.
Landon Durmisevich (1/3) and Jaxson Milius (1) combined to provide 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief.
Max Eldridge hit a two-run HR, doubled and scored a pair of runs.
Jonathan Thornton went 2-for-3 with a walk, run and one RBI.
Charlie Lemons singled three times and scored a pair of runs.
Troy Randall went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.
Striker Pence and Jayden Ramirez walked and scored one run apiece.
Khasaempanth went 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Joshua Angulo doubled.
