Baseball:
After starting Palomares League play 1-5, the Walnut baseball program enters the final game of the 2026 season just one-game back of Glendora for second place.
Dylan Nunez tossed a four-hit shutout in the Mustangs’ 2-0 victory over their visitors from Diamond Bar.
Nunez scattered four hits.
He issued one walk and registered eight strikeouts.
Sixty-one of his 93 pitches were strikes.
Ayden Torres doubled.
Dominic Deguzman, Jeremiah Jung and Dominic Tortorelli had one single apiece for DBHS.
Stetson Sherman went all six for the Brahmas, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk.
Fifty-four of his 81 pitches were strikes.
Aidan Olguin singled in a run in the bottom of the second inning.
Noah Tomas singled and scored.
JJ Rodriguez walked, singled and scored.
Dillan Lobo doubled the Walnut advantage with a sac fly in the third inning.
Adam Lenero singled once in the win.
