College Baseball:
After a one-run 14-inning victory (8-7) in game one, PCC kicked their offense into high gear and picked up the three-game SCC sweep thanks to wins of 14-2 and 11-2, on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
Jonathan Bracamonte went eight strong to earn the win.
Bracamonte surrendered two runs on eight hits.
He didn’t issue a walk and registered three strikeouts.
Sergio Robles got the final three outs, including one via strikeout.
Diego Helguera singled in a run, had an RBI ground out and doubled.
Joshua Oh singled twice and scored both of the Roadrunners’ runs.
Elias Mota went 2-for-4.
Nathan Sena, Andrew Ruvalcaba and Ruben Magana had one hit apiece for Rio Hondo.
Osmar Vargas got the loss after surrendering six runs (five earned) on 10 hits over six innings.
Vargas walked one and fanned a pair of Lancers.
Omar Cisneros went 3-for-3 with a walk, double, two runs and a pair of RBIs.
Chris Torres doubled, tripled, scored twice and had an RBI ground out.
Joaquin Salcedo went 2-for-3 with a walk, three runs and two RBIs.
Xiovany Ochoa singled in a run and scored.
Logan Parker went 2-for-5 with two RBIs.
Luke Bauer walked and had a pair of singles.
Joey Ramos walked, singled twice and scored three runs.
Up next: The Lancers finish the regular season portion of their season facing the SCC-leading Warriors of El Camino.
PCC will host ECC on Tuesday and Saturday, and they’ll travel to Torrance on Thursday.
