College Baseball:
Citrus won its seventh consecutive game on Thursday.
The Owls led throughout their 6-2 Western State Conference South Division victory at LA Valley College.
More importantly, Citrus just secured its 26th win of the season, which is double the program’s total from 2025.
A couple of former Glendora pitchers did the heavy lifting.
Evan Ellis went four innings and allowed one run on two hits.
Ellis issued two walks and registered seven strikeouts.
Michael Moses provided four innings in relief, and he was charged with one run on six hits.
Moses didn’t give a free pass and fanned four LAVC batters.
Ryan Harrison got the final three outs, including two via strikeout.
Kona Valenzuela walked and hit a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth.
Jaedyn Rodezno had an RBI ground out in the second.
Emiliano Lopez walked, singled and scored.
Christopher De La Hoya went 2-for-3.
Will Stubington doubled, while Vince Venia, Andrew Cuervo and Gavin Nilsson singled.
Luke Casarez got the loss after surrendering five runs on eight hits over six innings.
Casarez walked one and struck out seven Citrus batters.
Nick Velazquez started and finished strong.
Velazquez hit a two-run homer in the top of the second.
And Velazquez hit a solo shot in the ninth.
Dominic Torrez singled, had an RBI triple and an RBI double.
Cam Casado singled and hit a solo home run in the sixth inning.
Jackson Gray singled and scored.
Julian Hines walked, singled and scored a pair of runs.
Derek Almeda, Jordan Daniels and Garrett Patterson had one single apiece in the win.
Up next: The Owls go for the sweep at home on Saturday at 1.
