College Baseball:
Mt. SAC put the first of their three-game SCC series with Long Beach away early.
They led 10-1 after two innings and 15-2 as the game entered the top of the fifth.
The Mounties settled for a 26-4 victory over their visitors and they kept pace with El Camino atop the South Coast Conference standings.
Mt. SAC had more extra-base hits (9) than the Vikings had base hits (8).
Twelve separate Mounties had at least one hit in Tuesday’s win.
Tomas Bilvado improved his personal record to 7-3 after going six innings and allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits.
Bilvado issued two walks and registered eight strikeouts.
Seth Sumner, Jack Rudometkin and Brett Maloof provided one scoreless inning in relief apiece.
Myles Fendrick doubled twice and scored.
Erick Espinoza had an RBI triple and an RBI ground out.
Carson Slager went 3-for-3 with a walk, run and one RBI.
Aaron Mingo walked, singled and scored.
Garret Rodriguez had an RBI single and scored.
Four LBCC pitchers combined to hit six Mt. SAC batters.
The Mounties scored five runs or more off four of the Vikings five pitchers.
Aaron Mingo got lit up, allowing 10 runs (eight earned) on seven hits, two walks and a pair of hit batters.
Mingo fanned a pair of Mounties.
Jackson Giacone went 3-for-4 with a walk, a three-run HR and a grand slam.
Giacone also doubled, scored twice and finished with seven RBIs.
Tyler Primanto singled, scored twice, hit a solo home run and he was plunked with the bases loaded.
Frankie Brazil drew a pair of walks, singled, doubled and scored four runs.
Chip Mertz went 2-for-3 with a walk, four runs and an RBI.
Brady Stull singled, scored and drew a bases loaded walk.
Andrew Alva went 2-for-4 with a walk, RBI single, RBI double and scored a pair of runs.
Brock Foulds had an RBI double, an RBI ground out and scored.
Nick Mejia went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and three RBIs.
Hudson Karczynski had two RBIs and scored one run.
Jose Gomez singled and scored.
Ryan Castro singled and had an RBI ground out.
Luca Lombardi drew a pair of walks and scored twice.
AC Nieto had a two-run double in the seventh inning.
Mario Cuadras had an RBI single and scored.
Terrell Jackson, Frolian Serna and Isaac Fanoga scored one run apiece for the Mounties.
Mt. SAC saw 15 players score at least once on Tuesday.
