Northview edged Laguna Hills, 6-5, on Wednesday at the Santa Ana Elks Tournament.
The Vikings took a 6-0 lead in the top of the third inning, and they were narrowly able to hold off the Hawks.
Joseph Boone went three scoreless innings and allowed one hit and a walk.
Fernie Casas earned the save by getting the final six outs without a hit or run.
He walked one and fanned one LHHS batter.
Truett Kordes walked, doubled and scored.
Nate Medina doubled in a run.
Christian Sigaty singled twice and scored.
Noe Garcia and Mateo Brown-Corrada singled and scored one run apiece.
Sam Kaminsky went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Jarren Kozek walked, singled and drove in a run.
Jaiden Magana walked, was hit by pitch with the bases loaded and scored.
Christian Sigaty got the loss after surrendering four runs (two earned) on eight hits over two innings.
Sigaty didn’t give a free pass, and he struck out a pair of Vikings.
Michael Mendoza singled twice, tripled and scored two runs.
Jayden Chagollan went 3-for-4, scored, had an RBI single and an RBI double.
Jake Aguilar singled three times and scored.
Jaime Gallardo went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Ezekiel Martinez had an RBI single and scored.
Bobby Granados had a pair of singles.
Jaime Gallardo singled twice, including an RBI base hit in the top of the first to give Northview a 2-0 lead.
Fernie Casas singled and had an RBI fielder’s choice.
Isaiah Benavidez singled in the win, and Noah Martinez scored.
Up next: The Vikings resume Valle Vista League play next Wednesday at Charter Oak.
