Baseball:
After two weeks off, Etiwanda headed to Bishop Amat High School on Wednesday in a nonleague contest in La Puente.
And the Eagles got a combined five-hit shutout from Michael Aleman and Landon Durmisevich in their 1-0 victory over the Lancers.
Aleman went three scoreless innings and allowing two hits.
Aleman issued a pair of walks and registered two strikeouts.
Durmisevich provided four scoreless innings and scattering three hits.
Durmisevich walked one and fanned three Amat batters.
Ryan Salcedo went 2-for-3.
Josh Loera, Raymond Castro and Roman Spencer had one hit apiece for the Lancers.
Omar Arretche was saddled with the loss after allowing one unearned run on four hits over 3 2/3 innings.
Arretche walked two and fanned one EHS batter.
Izaac Muniz (2 IP) and Raymond Castro (1 1/3) combined to go 3 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing three hits, no walks and five strikeouts.
The lone run of the game came in the top of the first inning.
After an error and a walk, Jaxson Milius had a two-out RBI single.
And that was enough for Aleman and Durmisevich.
Adam Ornelas and Frank Gonzales had two hits apiece for the Eagles.
Derick Kim and Nathan Perez singled in the win.
LJ Roellig reached base on an error in the first inning, and he scored on the Milius base hit.
