James Rocha’s Grand Slam in Third Inning Ignited San Dimas Offense in Tuesday’s 15-1 Hacienda League Victory Over Alta Loma

Baseball:

One day after a disappointing (12-7) loss at Alta Loma in game one of a three-game Hacienda League series, San Dimas roared back with a 15-1 victory over the visiting Lions.

The Saints out-hit ALHS, 10-4, including a 6-2 advantage in extra-base hits.

Maddox Delgado got charged with five runs on two hits and three walks over three innings.

San Dimas got to Victor Cantu for five runs on two hits and a walk over 1/3 of an inning.

With the game tied at 0-0, James Rocha hit a grand slam in the bottom of the third inning.

Aaden Escarcega went 2-for-2 with three runs, a solo home run and an RBI double.

Escarcega was also plunked twice.

Micah Cooper walked, singled and scored two runs.

AJ Larios went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles, three runs, was hit twice, and drove in one.

Noah Esquival walked and doubled in a run.

Amderson Markese walked and singled.

Josh Calcanas was hit by pitch twice, including once with the bases loaded, singled in a run and scored twice.

Eleazar Santillan went 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs and one RBI.

Santillan went six innings and allowed one run on four hits to earn the win.

Santillan didn’t issue a walk an registered seven strikeouts.

Calcanas got the final three outs, including two via strikeout.

Trailing 5-0, Silas Granados hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth.

Edward Garbo doubled, while Vincent Cantu and Daniel Cammon had one single apiece in the loss.

Up next: The Saints and Lions will meet up on Thursday at ALHS in game three.
